Products - Radio Remote Crane Control System

Our Radio Remote Crane Control System is made up of two parts. The Hand Held Terminal (or HHT as it is called in short) has controls in the form of push buttons and joysticks to operate the crane while the Receiver Panel has all the electrical components to actuate the crane motors. The HHT is made of ruggedised plastic enclosure that is dust and moisture proof, has a 16x2 character LCD display to show messages to the user and has a mushroom type Emergency Stop button to halt the crane in case of emergencies.

The HHT communicates with the Receiver Panel using a wireless radio. We can provide wireless communication at difference frequencies - 2.4 GHz unlicensed band, 400 MHz band etc. to suit your environment and also the local wireless communication regulations. A NiMH battery on the HHT provides enough backup to enable continuous operation of anywhere between 12-24 hrs. The HHT has a strap-on belt with which is can be fastened to the operators chest allowing him to use both his hands to operate the controls.

The Receiver Panel is usually placed right on top of the EOT cranes. The relays and contactors of this panel interface into the control circuit of the existing crane (contactors, power controllers etc.). This Panel receives commands from the HHT and activates the corresponding relay/contactor contacts.

Our system can be interfaced into both new as well as old cranes. Our sales team can help you in deciding the no. of contactors/relays that will be required in the Receiver Panel by analysing your crane drawings. While our standard model of the HHT has upto 4 step control on 4 directions of motion of the crane, we can customise it to your needs. We can add/remove controls from our design as per the existing crane's design.

Safety has been accorded the highest priority in the design of the system. In accordance with this, fail safe interlocking logic is built into the Receiver Panel's controller which permits crane motion only if its communication link with the HHT is healthy. The communication protocol design ensures that there is no cross talk between the HHT of one crane with the Receiver Panel of another. This way it is possible to operate multiple cranes that are close by without the danger of interference between the two.

Our system has a provision to be interfaced into Brake Packages available from other leading vendors.

We also undertake installation and commissioning of our Remote Crane Control System.
